“We gave you no fixed place, no form of your own, nor any assigned task, O Adam, so that by your own choice you might possess the place, the image, and the role you desire; neither heavenly nor earthly, neither mortal nor immortal did we make you, but free to shape yourself in the form you prefer, as your own maker and sculptor.”

Giovanni Pico della Mirandola

We also will discover that diabetes can cause insensitivity in the feet, and if not treated properly, can lead to amputations. And we will understand that chronic pain is a brain dysfunction, by which we perceive pain even when the stimulus that generated it has disappeared.

Isabel Desousa and Silvia Rodríguez, Juan Collado, Jordi Viadé, specialist in diabetic foot of the Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital, Joan Deus of the Research Unit in Magnetic Resonance, Hospital del Mar, UAB, Jordi Monfort, chief of the Rheumatology Service, Hospital del Mar and UAB, Rafael Maldonado, Professor of Pharmacology, UPF, and the Fakir Kirman.
