Round table Sport and Science at the Barcelona World Race

On 8 June at the headquarters of the Foundation for Ocean Sailing of Barcelona (FNOB) held a round table entitled “Sport and Science”. Participants were Salvador Borrós of IQS, project coordinator “Oceans free of plastic. Measuring the concentration of microplastics in sea water along the route of the Barcelona World Race 14-15”, Jordi Salat of the ICM-CSIC, for the project “TermoSal: measure the temperature and salinity of surface water route BWR14-15”, Luigi Ceccaroni of Eureco, for the project “CITCLOPS: Evaluation of surface water quality from photo GEO located”, Eduard Estivill, of Estivill Foundation, for the project “Sleep in transoceanic navigation”, Pere Castells of University Campus Torribera-UB for the project “Signature cuisine for the most extreme sailing competition and their effects in performance”, Belén Gualis of Centro Médico Teknon, for the project “Analysis of medical control and wear offshore sailor on a round the world sailing”, Victoria Pons of CAR Sant Cugat, for the project “Study on the physiology and nutrition offshore sailing competition”, Suso Pérez, journalist who followed the last edition of the Barcelona World Race, and Dídac Costa, One Planet One Ocean sailor, boat participating in the Barcelona World Race 2014-15, he took the based on scientific vessel and constituted the reference and the motto of the 2nd International Ocean reserch Conference, organized by the FNOB and a joint IOC-UNESCO, in Barcelona, in November 2014. Pere Renom was the conductor of the act and moderator of the round table.
