The Mobile World Congress is one of the most important technological events in the world. Since 2006 it is celebrated in Barcelona. The “Quèquicom” program visits it to find out where mobile phones are moving on. In relation to design, they have not moved much in recent years. All companies have very similar models, with flat glass screens and a tactile interface. The novelty is the folding mobile. The great protagonist, however, of this edition is the 5G, the fifth generation mobile technology. It is expected to start deploying in 2020, it will be faster than optic fiber, it will admit a large volume of data and a latency, or response time, of milliseconds. With these features will enable smart cities, augmented reality video games, home automation, telesurgery, or autonomous driving.
