How is coronavirus?
Wuhan coronavirus or Covid-19 belongs to the same family of viruses as SARS and certain viruses of the common cold. It gets its name from the crown aspect given by the proteins located in the envelope, especially glycoprotein S (from “spike”), although we also find protein M (from “matrix”) and protein E. Inside the virus there are a single-stranded RNA that contains all of its genetic information. Viruses must infect animal, plant, or bacterial cells to replicate because they are so simple that they cannot do it on their own. In some way they could be considered non-living parasites. The virus’s glycoprotein S is the entry key that allows it to infect cells of the human respiratory system, through interaction with some of our membrane receptors (ACE2). So basically it only produces respiratory diseases.
